Snow Ball 2012

Snow Ball is our way of shucking off February's icy grip. This year's theme was 1920's black and white. Executive Chef Marty Brennan-Sawyer chose the menu from a meal once served to Calvin Coolidge (one of Vermont's two presidents) at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel—chicken supreme, asparagus spears, scalloped potatoes, and a chocolately dessert topped with toasted meringue—and it was served up by faculty and staff, who also stuck around to do the dishes. The students looked fabulous and there was much dancing throughout dinner to big band tunes. The after party in Barnes Assembly Hall was non-stop dancing. What a great way to blow out the last weekend of February with just two weeks til the big March break. Here's a gallery of photos from the evening and a snippet of the dance floor action, kept fresh by Jerry Tevolini, our favorite DJ—who also happens to produce some fine food in the KDU for his day job.
